Thanks to Aaron Newborn, we now know a lot more about the first reunion of the SHS Class of 1956.

This happy occasion was planned for the Christmas season, 1974.  As far as we can tell, it was a single activity event--dinner and the program at Riverbluff Restaurant, on the limestone bluff high above the Tennessee River just by the O'Neal Bridge.  Ron remembers it was well-attended.  At least 60 classmates turned out for this occasion.

Ron has graciously provided the memorabilia that he kept from the occasion, namely the program (with information that was current in 1974 about us), the news photo that appeared in the Times-Daily, and, most precious of all, the transcript of the skit presented that evening.

You will get many laughs as you read this hilarious roasting of the many classmates that was written by Ron and Jean Gardner Estes who starred in the skit.  Ron tells me that you have to have been there to see the effect it had on Mr. Boley and Coach Wright who were honored guests.  He expressed regret that some of the names mentioned in the skit are no longer with us, but he found it comforting to know that they were there in 1974 and had a great time.  I wasn't there, and I found this piece of humor hilarious.

In my conversation with Don Roper, he said that he remembered that many moved from the restaurant over to Jean Gardner Estes' home for continued reminiscing about the "good ol' days."

Those of you who were there, please send your memories of this event to Louis.  Those of you who brought your cameras to the event MUST share your snapshots with us. . . . Please!
