As alumni from another era, you would be amazed at the facilities and opportunities that today's SHS students have available to them.  The outside may not have changed all that much, but there are many progressive changes on the inside.  

The teachers are highly trained, experienced, enthusiastic academicians who have every bit as much concern and willingness to go the extra mile for their students as did their predecessors in our time.  Over time, the Col. Willson Trust has seen to it that extra funds have been available to the Sheffield City Schools for advanced degree education of its teachers.  Almost all have their Masters Degree in Education.  Two are working on their Ph.D. terminal degrees.

The programs, extracurricular activities, classrooms, laboratories, equipment, sports fields have been modernized and upgraded to meet the needs of today. 

The faculty and students at SHS participate in scholastic competitions, earn awards and scholarships, and produce notable accomplishments.  The academic and scholastic accomplishments sometimes receive less attention than sports, but the progress in this arena will bring just as much or more long-lasting respect and renown to our alma mater.
