Today's  Sweethearts monthly luncheon was few in number, large in merriment.  Lots of sharing about grown children and learning that we Sweethearts, as Moms, have each shared similar experiences raising our children.  Some of the tales were genuine  Halloween-time entertainment.
As we were leaving, Barbara South reached in her purse for her wallet and pulled out....of all things...  a 100-watt light bulb...a reminder for something, and we didn't ask.

Lots of traveling going on....Happy Trails.

Next luncheon:   Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Southland.     Linda

Another special gathering of the 1956 Sweetheart's group this day at the Southland !  Classmate Joyce Ford Foster joined us today (her first time to be with us) and she was driving the   rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooaaaaaarrrrrrrrring  Mustang.  We even looked under the hood!  Lots of holiday talk, decided we would raise hands and take turns instead of all talking at once.  We make Joyful  noise to warm the heart !

Those in attendance: Joyce Horton Johnson, Joyce Ford Foster, Sandra Foreman Morris, Patsy Bell Congleton, Zecora Wilcutt Sanders, Nancy Stewart King, Mary Lynn Blair Freeman, Louise Yarbrough Holland, Linda, Shirley Kimbrough White.

Do I ever have surprises for all you classmates!   Quite a few 'old' photographs circulated today courtesy of classmate Nancy Stewart King made back in the late 80s....   and...  Patsy Bell Congleton gave me  3 recent photos,  therefore I chose and was loaned 10 plus photos to send on to our Webmaster.    BTW, one of the photos back in the 80s has 9 of our girl classmates in it at a lunch held in a private home...Nancy's, I believe.   Since I lived in CA during that time, quite a few of the girls I don't recognize.  Oh, even have a photo of Jane Flurry and  Billie Hurst......

Ed. Note:  By Golly, what we've got ourselves is another contestCLICK HERE, Dear Classmates, to rush to be first to send in the correct answers to the question, "Who are these beautiful girls?"

Next luncheon date is  Thursday, December 20, 2007.   We talked of doing a dance of the sugar-plum fairies of Sheffield High School.  Film at 11.

Sweetheart's present today:  Peggy King Bishop, Joyce Horton Johnson, Sandra Foreman Morris, Joyce Ford Foster, Patsy Bell Congleton, Joann McMoran Jeffreys, Zecora Wilcutt Sanders, Mary Lynn Blair Freeman, Joann Marsh Gargis, Shirley Kimbrough White, Louis Yarbrough Holland  and Linda.

What a pre-Christmas celebration  overjoyed to the  MAX by 12 SHS Sweetheart's at today's monthly luncheon at the Southland Restaurant!  We had a holiday of Christmas sweaters, etc. on and Santa hats.   When I arrived, several of the Sweetheart's were standing under the TV mounted up on a wall, pretending there was a roaring fire place burning and sharing of their Christmas plans.  See how innovative we are ?

Peggy King Bishop visited with our group today  (school's out)...her lament was she never got a SHS Sweetheart's T-Shirt...guess what I had in my BIG bag ?   The very last T-shirt and she was delighted with her gift!  Also, in my  bag, I had brought my 2 new stuffed animals (birthday gifts) which you can see in the photos.   I have decided they are paternal twins, named the bear Teddie and the doggy, Freddie.  They each make noise...Teddie, the bear, has that  Elvis grin and sings  "I Want you to Be My Teddy Bear'.   Freddie   woofs    a lot.     The girls loved each of them and spent much time passing them around.  I felt sort of like Ms Claus.

We exchanged Christmas gifts and Patsy Bell Congleton had a gift of her very own home-made feel-good, smell-good hand lotion for each of us.

Special good news shared  by Patsy Bell Congleton.  Her daughter Dana and husband have gifted,..yes, gifted Patsy and Jim with a brand new, fancy-dancy home located in Richmond Hills in Tuscumbia.  They are all moved in and settled for Christmas.

Joyce Ford Foster redeemed her $25.00 gift certificate with take-home goodies.  She was proud she won the SHS Website '1980s photo quiz', naming the girl classmates correctly.

Today's luncheon would have even brought smiles to Scrooge and the Grinch.      Our collective 'joyful noise' is a choir of beautiful friendships.

Next monthly luncheon meeting is  Thursday, January 17, 2008 at ll:30 a.m.
