Ed. Note: Looks like the out of town member of the group this time was Peggy Wynne Taylor from Knoxville, Tennessee. It is good to see the group growing and, like Linda reports above, smiling and having a good old time. Great job on the photography, Linda! |

Here are 4 photos I took of the SHS Sweethearts at today's monthly luncheon...Bad weather did NOT keep these 8 away from FUN and making precious memories.... stories shared of 'high school days' brought on tears of 'happy' to many an eye. We girls are bonding.... the second time around. Linda |

Here are photos of this
date's Sweethearts' Luncheon held at the Southland Restaurant in
Sheffield; As Louis earlier asked of me, I made arrangements for Phyllis
and Tommy McCay, owner's of Southland, to pose with our group for a
picture and it happened . . . . much to my delight and the other ladies
present!
The T-shirt you
'see' I am wearing (and I gifted each girl present with one also)
logo was designed by Computer Guru Jim Kimbrell, and he aided me in
printing it correctly on the transfer paper via printer. I ironed
on the decals....a Labor of Love..... shirt reads"
Sheffield High School 1956
Sweethearts. My ABUNDANT GRATITUDE to Jim Kimbrell...cause
he helped make 'our' classmates Grin BIG!
Pulese...not to make too
much of the T-shirts.... I am learning and having such NEW experiences
via computer ! The FUN and good times continue....BTW...our
Sweethearts' collective thought for this day...'give them an inch, they
think they are a ruler.'
Thank you, Linda |

The SHS Sweethearts chose Southland for their monthly get-togethers because if there is a restaurant that has been associated with Sheffield since our days in high school, it's the Southland. It passed down from Don Roper's parents and the parents of Tommy, Linda and Phyllis McCay to another unrelated party, then to Margaret McCay and finally to her children. That's Tommy next to Linda Methvin Smith, and Phyllis is next to him in this photo of the SHS Sweethearts at the March gathering. CLICK HERE for Tommy's story of the evolution of the restaurant to today's Southland. |
Here are those T-shirts that Jimmy Kimbrell and Linda Smith created for the Sweethearts. Great job, Linda and Jim! |
