Farley's Fotos

Farley Vaughn took to photography like he was going to make it a career.  He did!  He's now retired from a lifetime career that centered around the camera--military photography, Huntsville Times Director of Photography, and professional photographer.

When I first thought about developing this website, I suspected that our class photographer might have some of the photos he had taken for our publications back then--mainly the photos for the yearbook.  When I first contacted Farley, he was still active in his family and wedding portraiture business, settled firmly for years in the home that he and Tommie had built, and, though he thought he might have some of our photos somewhere, he had no idea where they might be.  The photography business was keeping him hopping all the time, so my request had to take second priority.  But he didn't forget!

I got a call from Farley recently (mid-March, 2006) telling me that he had moved, and, lo and behold, he had found some boxes with old high school photos.  Needless to say, I got in my car and drove right up to Huntsville to pick up this treasure.  Since my return to Tuscaloosa, I have been quite busy integrating these photos into old and new pages on the website, so, if you think you've seen it all on previous visits, revisit many of the places you've been 'cause some new photos from Farley just might be there.

Meanwhile, here's a generous sampling of what Farley let me have:
