A Note to You, Dear Visitor

HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS SITE

This place was originally a tool to drum up attendance at our 50th Reunion.  By popular demand from classmates, it has survived the demise planned for it once the reunion was over.

Thanks to about a third of the Class of 1956 who sent me material PLUS many others who have sent me material about Sheffield or Sheffield High School, this has become quite a large collection of nostalgia and history of our Alma Mater and our first hometown.  You can't possibly see everything that we have accumulated here in one visit.

This website is divided into six major topic sections

bullet

The people of the SHS Class of 1956 ("About Us")

bullet

Life and times during our high school days ("SHS Then")

bullet

The current happenings at SHS today ("SHS Today")

bullet

Accounts of Reunions ("Reunions")

bullet

Fun things about us and our interests ("The Playroom")

Over the course of time, a couple of quick links were created and put on the main menu:

bullet

Most recent additions to the website ("New Stuff")

bullet

A blog ("Fifty-Sixers Journal")

bullet

The most actively dynamic page for Lady Bulldogs ("SHS Sweethearts")

Click on these listed links to jump quickly to any of these locations, but don't think for a minute that these are the only places to go.  These will get you into the general regions of the website.  Look for the links.  These will be the words or phrases that are underlined and generally in a different color than the neighboring text.  If you see a little picture that you can't tell what it is, and it has beveled edges, click on it to see a large image of that picture.  If you use this type of link, you need to return to the previous screen by using your browser's "Back Arrow."

There are many trails and pathways here for you to meander down.  For aesthetic purposes (and, maybe, a bit of laziness) we have not included   "BACK | HOME | WHEREVER"   links on all pages.  When you are following links, please use your Back Arrow on your browser to return to the page you were on before.

If you find a link that doesn't work, please e-mail me at lebuettner@comcast.net to get me to fix it.  If you found it, then everybody else who wants to go down that trail will be blocked too.  If you are on a wireless system when you get a "Can't Show You That Page" error message, try refreshing (click the icon with the curving back and forth arrows)--you might have lost contact with your wireless router momentarily.

This is a dynamic website, so the pages you visit might change as we get new information or photos to post there.  Especially revisit the current information pages on classmates to get the latest.  Or a page like "Christmas Kids" for the 2007 holidays will certainly change as different classmates send in their photos.  I hope that the hope that there will be more to see and learn later will keep you coming back

if you like what you find, come back often to explore the entire website.  If any of the waystations on this journey back to "Nostalgiaville" spark a memory of your past in Sheffield, write us a note and tell us about it.  If you have old photographs of life in Sheffield, scan them and send them to me as attachments in an e-mail.  We will find a place to share these valuable vignettes with future visitors.
