Happy New Year

	*Happy New Year, You Guys!!*

	Hi, everybody in The Class of 1956! We all had a good 2006, and Judy and I want to wish you a great 2007. Thinking back on the year I found a poem, inspired by Nell Brook, which I am attaching. Also, I had "This Day" published in our local paper two weeks ago so I thought it would make a good bookend to close 2006. We have had many blessing and pray that God will give you his blessing in the coming year! May all your days be merry and bright! Happy New Year! Buck and Judy
	IT’S BEEN A GREAT RIDE January 8, 2006 Sheffield This was inspired by a comment by Nell Brook when we went out to lunch with Stan and her back in September of last year. She was talking about a bee sting that had caused neurological damage, but she was looking back--and forward--to better times. Wow, looking back at all the ups and downs All of those smiles and some of the frowns The years have come and gone so quick A lifetime of experiences does show That old things die and new things grow Life is an adventure that is a cool trick We never know what tomorrow will bring The freshness of challenge makes it sing Another hurdle to overcome Tote up the miracles, tragedy outweighed Life’s so wonderful, don’t be dismayed Enjoy the good times, don’t be glum! It’s been a great ride For sure I get to decide Now that I am approaching the end It’s been a great ride Some things I would hide No need to tell all, my friend It’s been a great ride Gone a long way with pride Some tatters along the way to mend It’s been a great ride Tears and laughter did reside A helping hand I did lend It’s been a great ride Nothing left to hide All greetings I did send It’s been a great ride In peace I do abide Give it my all till the end!
	This Day February 27, 2006 The past is gone, leave it alone, Now is today, live it fully and play. Don’t grieve for what is lost, forget the cost! Tomorrow is not here, the future unclear. This is the test, make today the best. Nostalgia put away, laugh now this day Hopes for the future morrow, not in sorrow! Be engaged in the now; past troubles disavow! All beating hearts have hurt, nothing new to alert Pain has come it will go, now is important you know! Live for the moment is my plea, let the future be. Go and be with a friend, don’t put it off to the end. While on your way, know this may be the last day Live it as if it were, life goes by in a blur!
