ACHIEVERS

Katelyn Diane Parkes,
of Sheffield, was named to the spring president's list at the University of
South Alabama with a 4.0 grade-point average. She is majoring in
pre-professional health science and exercise science. She is a member of the
Pre-Acceptance Medical Program and has maintained more than a 3.5 GPA each
semester. A 2003 graduate of Sheffield High School, she is the daughter of

Carissa Tarnique Garner,
Sheffield, was awarded a Martin Luther King Minority scholarship to
Northwest-Shoals Community College. A graduate of Sheffield High School, she was
a member of band, homecoming court, honor toll, step team and Top 10. She was
Skills USA secretary and a majorette. She will pursue her goal of becoming an
emergency medical technician. She is the daughter of Alice and Ronald Garner.

Timerria Tompkins, Sheffield, was awarded an academic scholarship to Northwest-Shoals Community College. A graduate of Sheffield High School, she was a member of the basketball team, Future Business Leaders of America, Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, National Honor Roll, Who’s Who Among American High School Students and homecoming court.
