Hello classmates and friends of Sheffield High Class of '56!  Welcome to our website, a place where all you sons and daughters of the mid-Fifties can take a trip down a nostalgic "Memory Lane" where it took its twists and turns along the high bluffs on the south side of the mighty Tennessee River in the little town of Sheffield in northwest Alabama where we grew up.

You're at "Nostalgiaville"

We'll reminisce with you about the good times we had back then, share with you what has happened in our lives, entreat you to help improve this website by your contributions, and, most of all, remember the faculty and staff of SHS back then when we were young and full of enthusiasm and ambition.  High school was the time in our lives when we first got serious about making careers and leaving home, and our teachers were the persons who were most responsible (along with our parents) in helping guide us in the directions we took.

Honor thy Teachers!

Some of us want to remember and honor these early mentors in our lives by establishing a perpetual living memorial to them within the Sheffield Education Foundation, a memorial that will continuously provide funds for programs in the Sheffield City Schools to support efforts to improve the academic standards and performance of students at our Alma Mater.  Read on to find out about how you can join us.

Mark your calendars for

S  A  T  U  R  D  A  Y ,     A  U  G  U  S  T     9 ,    2  0  0  8

We meet at the SHS Cafeteria in the evening to enjoy a catered dinner by Whole Hog Express and to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of our graduation!

GUYS & GALS!  This place is not finished yet!  That's because we are depending on you classmates who have some of the following to share them with us by sending them to our webmaster who will incorporate them into this website.

·              Snapshots and photographs from your high school days

·              The missing Hi-Lites

·              Other memorabilia from our high school years

·              Memories of your high school events and experiences

·              A tribute to your favorite or most influencing teacher

·              Memories of your reunion experiences

·              Updates on your life after high school
